Me and my pets are definitely joining the #PurinaLendAPaw 2 to help shelter cats from the Philippine Animal Welfare Society. And here is my first entry equivalent to one bowl of Friskies!

It was really a struggle to take this photo because Mr. Panda Bear hates physical contact and picture taking. The only activity that he likes doing is me hand feeding him!

PROMOTION PERIOD: August 15, 2015 – October 15, 2015

PROMO CONCEPT:

Pet lovers will be invited to join PURINA to Lend A Paw to the shelter cats and dogs of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) by encouraging them to post a photo on Instagram of them and their pets holding hands, using the hashtag #PurinaLendAPaw2 and tagging 3 friends to do the same. Every valid post will then be matched by Purina with a bowl of ALPO or FRISKIES that will be donated to PAWS.

ELIGIBILITY

1. The promotion is open to all dog and cat owners residing in the Philippines for at least one (1) year and at least eighteen (18) years of age who has an Instagram account.

2. The promotion period is from August 15, 2015 – October 15, 2015.

HOW TO JOIN:

1. Participants will be encouraged to post a photo of them holding their pet’s paw on Instagram.

2. Together with their photo, they must include the hashtag #PurinaLendAPaw2 and tag 3 friends to do the same thing.

3. Entries with inappropriate content in their captions will be disqualified.

4. The following criteria should be followed when posting photos:

• All photo/video entries must be originally taken by the pet owner.
• Photos/videos must be clear and contain wholesome images. Offensive/obscene photos/videos are not allowed and will be disqualified.
• Captions must contain wholesome messages. Offensive captions are not allowed and will be disqualified.

5. Only photos posted until October 15, 2015 will be qualified and counted.

6. All participating photos must be made public in order to be qualified and counted.

7. Every valid post will be equivalent to a bowl of ALPO or FRISKIES that will be donated by NESTLE PURINA PETCARE PHILIPPINES to the shelter dogs and cats of The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

8. Announcement of the total tally of donations will be done within two (2) weeks of the end of the promotion date.

I would like everyone here to meet Mr. Panda Bear. The guy who is trying to take the attention and love of my mother away from me.  The guy who knows how to make the heart of my mother's melt.  A guy who treats me as a rival and would only come up to me when he needs something and then continue ignoring me!!!

Mothers and Dogs!

     Some thirty something years ago, a child was born and she was named by her parents after Barry Manilow’s dog (beagle) on the thought that it was actually Barry’s child name. Her parents might be a psychic because she grew up a dog lover. Fast forward to future, she used an Asong Pinoy as a profile picture in Facebook and got mocked (wonders if she will get the same reaction if she used an “imported dog’s" picture), but did these things made her less of a person? Definitely not,she is very much secured with her being.  Dogs (particularly Aspin’s) have always been in her system from the moment that her parents named her.  She learned in life that sometimes, people will look down on you based on association (things that you like), skin color,socio-economic status, gender and even your civil status among others, but dogs never will.  Her dogs taught her that though some things can never last. What’s important is the moment spent together and the memories that will forever last in your heart. To live the moment because life is short and should not be wasted with negativity. And that you can love and be loved unconditionally. That being single doesn’t necessarily mean that you are alone. People may come and go but if they have it their way, dogs would love to stay with you forever.  Reality check, only mothers and  dog can love your imperfections.
